I see that we both are requesting a eight megabyte RAM disk.

The messages I got where:
attempt to access beyond end of device
01:00: rw=0, want=5293, limit=4096
attempt to access beyond end of device
01:00: rw=0, want=5293, limit=4096
 ...more..of..this..messages..
attempt to access beyond end of device
01:00: rw=0, want=4348, limit=4096
attempt to access beyond end of device
01:00: rw=0, want=4349, limit=4096

during a boot from network on a sparc64

With some luck am next able to provide a patch on the manual,
somewhere in TFTP boot area.

I didn't see the relation to CDrom issues,
but left debian-cd@l.d.o CCed.
