It sounds to me like you have a broken CD image. Unfortunately, you don't
specify which version of the installer you are using.
Please try again with the Beta 4 release (released yesterday) of the installer
which can be found at:
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ports-status
In future, please mention the exact location from which you obtained the CD
image and the version or build date (which you can find by typing F1 at the
CD boot prompt).
