Tatlin from Coresis (http://www.tatlin.net/) has made a Debian image for syslinux boot screen. 
He had send me and i forward to joeyh@debian.org.

This image should be adapted to resolution, corol depth, and format needed for syslinux.

If you like it you can contact me for other graphicals stuff for the new debian installer (gui frontend?).
