The third option is quite nice in environments with good net-conection.
(One just carries the two floppies around and is ready to install
anywhere).
It's quite easy, as one is early in a known area(Having a linux
running and a limited shell) and thus an easy way to get in.
(as unpleasent as the old-style bootfloppies are, they have anything
to learn networking and installing at once).
Though I guess netbooting PCs has become much better in the recent
past, though having another process to get right first might
still be a showstopper for newbies.
(They can now give usable error-messages on problem with network
cards, boot images with more then 640k, and boot over tcp, I hope.)
