It'll fall back to an English installation.  Serial console is supported
on i386 too.  The only time you wouldn't want to turn LANG_CHOOSER on
would be on architectures that don't ever support framebuffer.

Yup.  Again, the "hardware doesn't support fbcon" situation applies to
i386 too, depending on your particular video card.
