When booting the current cvs boot-floppies (working on 3.0.20), the
installer's display has a 'split screen' effect:

This is fairly annoying to use. I boot with video=ofonly, because if I
don't the screen doesn't sync. Also, the monitor is fairly small (14"). 

Is anyone else seeing this? Is there anything I can do to
troubleshoot or provide more info?
