hrm, it was not built to use the right debconf.conf.... probably
something about the debian/rules is not quite setup right.

well.... i suppose.... i can't think of a way to build this so that i
can have /usr/share/debconf/{frontend,confmodule} work correctly. is
diversions the right thing to do here?
i'll be on the road tomorrow. will look at this some more while i'm
gone, but if you need it fixed sooner please feel free to fix it and upload.
