I have no idea. I am not the i386 kernel maintainer.
I re-iterate: file a bug against the package kernel-image-2.2.14.
Thus the kernel-image maintainer will deal with the problem.
Otherwise, it will not get fixed. Debian-boot folks don't maintain
the kernel images.
