Bug#55400: libncurses problems



Let me clarify one point, below

In the preceding narrative, the errors do not follow every "then."
What I meant is I went through the steps listed in the installation.
The error first occurred after the question of whether I wanted to configure
ppp.
It preceded the question about whether I wanted to start ppp.
