I've got a prototype of the basic task selector done in perl with the
newt-perl binding. It was quick to get the basic proto done but I'm afraid
that newt-perl has some problems that need to be solved before it can
replace C or whiptail newt apps.

I've had to fight a bunch of things with newt-perl whereas it only took me
a few hours to actually proto the thing. It can display some systems to
install plus parse the cache into task names and descriptions and put them
in a list box. Unfortunately, the documentation is sparse on how to use
list boxes from newt-perl...I will probably rewrite things in C to make the
GUI work (too bad that makes the parsing portion harder).

This is Linux Country. On a quiet night, you can hear Windows reboot.
