need some help, please

ok, i went with anonymous cvs. downloaded boot-floppies. stopped.

i have some question to ask you:

*) i can't read sgml documentation. i haven't ever used sgml tools,
   so i installed debiandoc-sgml packages, but debiandoc2html
   doesn't do what i thought.

*) part of the debian archive is required in order to make
floppies. well, which part? i've a dialup workstation, i
can't download all the unstable tree. see my output at 2*

*) from within boot-floppies i try to run ./debian/rules but it
spreads out that (i added some number for reference on the left):

        [dom@grullo ~]$ cd boot-floppies/
        [dom@grullo ~/boot-floppies]$ ./debian/rules
        test -f rootdisk.sh -a -f debian/rules
        make release

        make utils

make[4]: `libfdisk.a' is up to date.
        make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/dom/boot-floppies/utilities/libfdisk'

        gen-header C.mo

        make: *** [build] Error 2
        [dom@grullo ~/boot-floppies]$

it seems expecting to be extracted in a particular filesistem with other
   expected directories.

*) what is gen-header? where i can find it?

sorry if these question could be solved reading sgml doc, but as i told,
i couldn't manage to translate it in some common format.

meanwhile i'm downloading boot images, so i can dissect installation disks.

any help is *very* appreciated :))

ciao
