Where can I find the 'working example see Debian Med packages >= 1.0 .'?

The way how you can obtain this yourself is:

   apt-get source debian-med

You should pay special attention to the Vcs fields in debian/control to
learn where the source of Debian Med packages are maintained in SVN and
you will find a lot more examples there.

You can also use the following to do a VCS checkout based on those Vcs fields (of the latest officially released package):

    debchoeckout debian-med
