d-i, yes. But X and GNOME each mess with their own (admittedly large)
part of an installed system.

Sharing code between lessdisks, LTSP, FAI and other tools that tend to
mess with an overall system seems quite on-topic for debian-custom IMHO.

I really appreciate if you would "waste time" participating in such
