Looks like this point had already been raised on debian-backports@
(thanks Mike for the pointer).

That makes me wonder: are the people taking care of these backports
willing to take care and follow up on backports related bug reports
filled against owncloud (and its build-)dependencies), such as this one?
I believe it would be the best course of action, making the issue public
in a place were people caring about owncloud will find information and
making it easier for the people from the teams to help each other.
If the answer is “no”, on the other hand, should we just close this bug
report and encourage people interested into owncloud backports to file
further bug reports directly into the backports mailing list following
the documentation?
