Hello, I've been unable to upgrade to the latest version of icedove in bpo (10.0.12-1~bpo60+1) due to dependency issues. Google has suggested that other people are not having this problem, so I come here seeking help. It looks like the newer version of libcairo2 that icedove depends on conflicts in some way with other gnome packages; aptitude suggests that I either leave icedove alone, or uninstall almost every gnome-related package. Any pointers would be appreciated. Various command outputs follow. --------------8<-------------- $ apt-cache policy icedove icedove: Installed: 3.1.16-1~bpo60+1 Candidate: 10.0.12-1~bpo60+1 Version table: 10.0.12-1~bpo60+1 0 100 http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports/ squeeze-backports/main amd64 Packages 500 http://mozilla.debian.net/ squeeze-backports/icedove-esr amd64 Packages *** 3.1.16-1~bpo60+1 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.0.11-1+squeeze15 0 500 http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates/main amd64 Packages 3.0.11-1+squeeze12 0 500 http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze/main amd64 Packages $ cat /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main contrib non-free deb-src http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main contrib non-free deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze-updates main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze-updates main contrib non-free deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main contrib non-free deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ squeeze-backports icedove-esr # aptitude install icedove The following NEW packages will be installed: libnss3{ab} libvpx1{a} The following packages will be upgraded: icedove{b} 1 packages upgraded, 2 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
