..I forgot to mention that patent law specifically allows
private and educational etc non-commercial use of patents,
precisely "to promote the arts."
Patent law "protects the patent holders commercial rights for
a limited period of time as a return favor to the innovator
for sharing innovation by patenting it "to promote the arts",
by giving the patent holder a commercial market monopoly.
..and I guess that part of patent legislation wil still have
political etc ramifications. ;o)
