Got lucky in late May myself, but did not appreciate Manjaro either. IIRC Debian installer on an SD card ran OK, but wasn't able to successfully connect to the network, or install to the EMMC, or both. It was probably user error due to not connecting extra power to the docking station to get a good ethernet cable connection... Ordered the USB EMMC adapter and wrote Kali image onto EMMC, because a Kali all-in-one image was available for quick and easy "dd install", Kali is very Debian-testing/sid, and Kali sounds bad-ass. :D By the time the adapter arrived, however, the Debian SD card was forgotten in the SD card slot, so the first couple boots came up with the Debian install process, which caused some confusion until the SD card was removed. Kali is working OK, but I haven't tested sound, and it didn't handle the first low battery gracefully (i.e. sudden power-off), but that could also be user error in messing with Power Settings... Another disappointment is having to go to Sourceforge for an unofficial Tor Browser arm64 port. Minor issues: Kali only used a minimal portion of the EMMC to start, so there wasn't enough room to run the first update until the partition size was expanded. There seems to be slightly more latency when starting applications. Disclaimer: Mine has only been back in action for a couple days. PSA: Don't cut your finger on the Pinebook Pro sharp edges when removing the back cover without RTFM carefully to see the warning. Those edges are sharp!
