If you are running one of the first u-boot's provided by Genesi, you
might need to upgrade it, but most likely it is not your case.
The initrd and uimage found in the mirrors work up to installing the
kernel, provided you have serial console connection. The kernel is
mainline 3.2 and at that time there was not much support, iirc, just
enough to get you a serial and read PATA disks, no HDMI (for that you
need Genesi provided kernel, was it 2.6.31?)

On the good news, mainline support has improved a lot and people is
building 3.9 mainline kernels, but those still need a bit of
polishing, once that is sorted out, it won't take long to get better
support in jessie.
