It looks like the newt interface, isn't it ?
Could you give it another try with :
DEBIAN_FRONTEND=text
on the exec line ?
I.e. :
Redboot> exec -c "console=ttyS0,115200n8 DEBIAN_FRONTEND=text rw root=/dev/ram mem=512M@0xa0000000" -r 0x01800000
