Hello again,
For those just joining us, I would like to investigate installing
myself a free software/open source GNU/Linux system on the Gp2x
handheld. The company has provided some sources for the system
(kernel, bootloader, mplayer) but there are also many proprietary
applications in there that I do not really need, I also would like to
try out different ideas for the interface, but one step at a time.
GPH (The manufacturer of the device) released sources of the kernel that is working on gp2x

Yup, this is for the 2.4 kernel, I have looked in the config file and
it gives some clue as to what we need to enable.

Okay, what are the first things I would need to get the 2.6 kernel
running on this?
I suppose I could consider using their provided 2.4 kernel if it gets
a basic system up and running.
