I'm getting comparable results of installing sarge on my Riscstation.
I've tried netboot & businesscard CD images, and the last vmlinuz/initrd
images (03 oktober).
Sorry to reply only now to your post, and then again because it's your
previous install attempt.
At the time of your first attempt, my Riscstation would complain about not
being able to load it's initrd-image into memory, so it didn't came so far.
That was due to a bug in Linloader; last week I've found that bug, killed
it and indeed, now I get:
[snip]
RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0
Freeing initrd memory: 1334K
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem).
Freeing init memory: 100K
And then nothing. It just sits there, doing nothing.
Strange thing is: the keyboard keeps working.
All keys I press are shown on screen.
Enter generates new lines.
Caps/Num/Scroll lock leds can be toggled on/off.
Ctrl+Alt+Del resets the system, generating the line 'flushing ide
devices: hda hdc hdd'
Setting up filesystem, please wait ...
I don't get this, but I'm sure it's the next thing what should come up.
Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but you're not alone
anymore.
Simon.
