you cammandlines are spot on btw, please consider adding to the docs?
or mailing the D-i team with a bug?

bugger...the new 2.4.27 kernels fix this but their stalled in new :-(
do you have a gold spec board? if so try using ttyS0 instead? you may
have to switch jumpers after using ABLE.

This is possibly because the d-i terminal program doesnt consider
ttySAC0 to be a serial port :-( Thers some devfs black magic

Alternately you can use the framebuffer and a usb keyboard, Its only
ABLE that doesnt do USB keyboards atm.
