gnome-pilot anyone?

Does anyone have gnome-pilot working on a Netwinder? (Has anyone tried?
:-) I can't get it to start to sync, the pilot times out in the first
stage when gnome-pilot is waiting to send the new name and ID.
Our serial port is ttyS0, right? I think 57600 baud is right, but can't
tell how to adjust this on the Palm. Is there some way to listen in on
the serial traffic, to tell what the pilot is trying to send and bug
report intelligently?
This is with a Kyocera SmartPhone, PalmOS/Sprint PCS cell phone...
