Package: php4
Version: 4:4.1.1-1
Severity: important

It seems that regular expressions do not work on my system.
Two examples:

1.) fopen() used with an URL says "Invalid URL" although the URL is 100% valid.

2.) eregi() always says that it could not find any match (for example an e-mail-address-check-regexp allways tells me that
the address is invalid, no matter whether it is valid or not)

If I copy those scripts to my Intel P90-System (also woody) at home they work. If I use php4-cgi instead of the
apache-module they work too (on the Alpha).

I would like to know, whether this bug is reproduceable on other Alphas and whether I can expect a fix or not.
If it helps, you can find my phpinfo() at http://gambler.mat.sbg.ac.at/phpinfo.php

I hope that you can help me
Yours Sincerely
David Hellekalek

Im closing these bugs since the problem has been solved since a while and
eregi() functionality is working fine. Unfortunatly we are missing the
record in which version of apache this issue was solved.

Tested using php4 4.2.3-13 and apache 1.3.27-0.1

Regards
Fabio
