Hmm, that is suspicious.  What are the chances of multiple boots ending
up with the same code in the same memory location every time?  Not
imposible, but seems unlikely.

I wonder if there is some instruction gcc has to execute when compiling
that file that is crashing the CPu.  Could be a broken CPU.

Certainly weird.

Does control-c, alt+sysrq+t (or m or one of hte other handy options,
from the console of course, not X) work when it hangs or is it really
totally dead?
