Re: GA-K8NS Pro-939 sata not detected

Hello list,
I have GA-K8NS Pro-939 motherboard, rev. 1002 and I am trying to install debian
amd64 on it.
The system includes 1 ata cdrom drive and 1 sata hard drive (Seagate
Barracuda 7200.7, 120gb, model ST3120827AS, firmware 3.42). Unlike the author of the message http://lists.debian.org/debian-amd64/2004/12/msg00030.html , I only have 2 physical points where to plug sata cable. These are SATA0_SB and SATA1_SB, which is in accordance with the information written in the manual. Unfortunately, the new debian installer does not detect the hard drive.
Can anyone give me any advice, how to solve this issue? Kernel version
and other info follows:
Hi Michael,

Just very briefly: the sata_nv driver in the 2.6.8 kernel doesn't work
(I have the same mobo). The board should also have a second set of
sata drives, namely sata_sil, which do work with the 2.6.8 D-I kernel.
What I did was install the first kernel to one of the sata_sil drives,
download a 2.6.12-rc1 kernel, and had no problems with the sata_nv
drives.

Bios detects my hard drive without any problem.
Thank you very much in advance...
