Please test the grub package from

http://debian-amd64.alioth.debian.org/grub_0.95+cvs20040624-7.0.0.1.pure64.1_i386.deb

It should fail just like the previous one but output 4 extra lines of
debug info before "Error 28: Selected item cannot fit into memory".
