1. Tried both  kernels. With 32-bit  I was getting  segmentation fault
   immediately, the output I sent is from using amd64 kernel.

2. I  used  exactly the  same  syntax on  the  command  line, only  in
   different order. 

dfs:~# cdebootstrap -v --debug -a amd64 sid /mnt file:///opt/packages

Unfortunately it's not  easy for me to try  alioth repository via http
as I'm off-line  at home. Is there  a way to mirror alioth,  so that I
could be able to use it from a harddisk for instance?
