No...  memtest works fine, but you have to make sure that your memory
can handle it - not all can.  For now it's probably best to stick to
'approved' memory.

For example I have Corsair DDR400 in mine, and although it's rated at
DDR400 I had to manually slow the memory down quite a bit (to ~DDR233
speeds) to make it work on the Athlon64.  The same memory is fine on a
standard Athlon at DDR400 (so I can't RMA it).  It seems that the
Athlon64 drives the memory much harder and borderline stuff just craps out.

In the OPs case it's best to try to RMA the memory and get some approved
by the motherboard manufacturer.  Alternatively slow the memory down
progressively until the it starts working - it's better to replace it
though.
