thanks for answer Jay,

my Miata has already a SCSI disk and a IDE cdrom. the thing is that (i hope) the machine is configured correct (i mean the hardware). no problem at the scsi chain or at the ide cables. kernel 2.4.25 is working fine. i have only problems when i use the kernel 2.6.x. is it possible that there is a problem at the ext3 driver ?
