Or it could be a latent bug that some specific thing in -1 reveals, or it
could be a hardware problem causing intermitent errors, or <fill here>...
Hopefully one day we'll have a tracking of the build-deps versions used at
build-time, so the possibility you mentionned could be detected. I'll have
to restart work on this.
