It's the mirror that is slow.  A p133.  Lully itself is fast.

king:/mount/large/home/adam# hdparm -t -T /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
 Timing buffer-cache reads:   128 MB in  3.21 seconds = 39.88 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  64 MB in  6.60 seconds =  9.70 MB/sec

I've seen apt speeds of 3-4MB/s, for about 32M of data.

We have plans to upgrade our mirror, but it's not very high on the todo.
