How do i format a DOS partition

Hi Guys (again)

When I set up my MIKASA system I created a small dos (FAT?) parition
on my drive as the first partition there, how do I format it?  I am
assuming I can't just boot up with my dos disk an format C: ;-| 
the way I do with my x86 machines.  I want to set up this partition
for use with the ARC console to boot MILO.  Any and all help would be
appreciated.
