One question, Jeff: which X packages are you using? You didn't mention
a version number.

I personally find the Matrox cards wonderful (crisp display, lots
of bandwidth). The PCI ones seem to becoming dirt cheap as "everyone"
now wants one of those AGP things. I've seen a 4MB Millenium II for
about US$60 locally. They used to be about US$180.
