The only reference I have found about an Alpha 5000 5/500 system, is
on http://ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/Alpha/firmware/, and the
corresponding link is the same as for the AS1200 system.
Either AS5000 and AS1200 are the same (at least from the architecture
point of view, maybe they do not have exactly the same options). In
this case, there is no Debian support for it yet but you can try the
Debian root disk (http://lhpca.univ-lyon1.fr/axp/debian.html) with the
rawhide-s kernel on gatekeeper.dec.com.
If this is not the same than an AS1200, my best guess is that it is
unsupported.
