Where I took the base floppies from (a mirror of debian), there weren't any in
1997-10-05/. So I took the base floppies, the driver floppy and the rescue and
root floppies from 1997-08-12/ and replaced the kernel on the rescue floppy
with a kernel from 1997-10-05/. I think I already mentioned this in one of my
earlier postings.
