I'm planning on writing down what I do step-by-step next time I
re-install my Alpha XLT 300. I hope I'll have it by Sunday. I first have
to install a system this Friday that will act as internet proxy / mail
gateway, multihomed, via a dialup ISDN line, so I'll be a bit busy
before then....

I got my hints from stuff at "beezer" (don't have my bookmarks handy,
search the archive for this list). There are a couple of gaps you have
to fill yourself, unfortunately. I remember getting the MILO disk (which
is the *first* boot disk :-) from gatekeeper.dec.com, and the rest from
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/hamm/hamm/disks-alpha/ (not the most recent
ones, I believe; or else a combination :-( ).
