Problems installing on a "Mikasa" system

Hi all

I am trying to install Debian on a DEC Alphaserver 1000 (Mikasa i
think). I have followed the installation instructions as well as I am
able. I created a MILO disk from the most recent archive I could find
and it seemed to work, however when I get to the rescue disk, the system
seems to work but freezes at the line that says something like keyswapd
...... (sorry I cant be more specific but the computer is disconnected
right now (monitor needed for emergency)). Can anyone help me, the
computer stays at that line for at least 1 hour (I left it alone for
that long) I have used Debian for intel, this is my first attempt at
Alpha.

Thanks in advance
