This is basically harmless, and not the fault of identd (as far as I
have been able to determine), but an optimizer(?) problem in fscanf of
libc.
It happens because you start an ftp session to a remote site, and that
site does an ident lookup to your machine to find out who is initiating
that ftp connection.
