: The "freeze on UP" (AKA the 2.1.12[78] flu) seems to be an intel-only
: problem, as my Alpha Box (Miata) has been running fine for more than 24
: hours now with 2.1.128i UP.

Not for me :-(

I've tried with 2.1.126, 2.1.127, and 127-preX, 129-preX, 128-acX,
and ALL of them (UP) freeze if I try to do something with the box
(ie, compile something). 2.1.122 doesn't freeze if I don't
use nfs :-)

That is because I have been trying to compile a SMP kernel, it
seems to cure the freezes.

My box is a AlphaServer 1000A/333, noritake primo (ev56), booting
with bootp and SRM.
