AFAIK that's all kernel-source-2.0.35 is supposed to do. After all,
the package name kind of implies it's just the kernel source.
What did you expect it to do?

This is the problem with sysvinit that's been reported a couple of
times already. Installing the current version causes a _second_
init to start running, which proceeds to run all the startup scripts
etc.  I want to look at this problem, but won't have the time to do
so for the coming week...
