Piece of advice, buy one from a company that installs Linux. You can
reinstall to your particular taste, but that should guarantee hardware
compatibility.

You should be able to find a 5-600 MHz axp for under $3000US, naturally
depending on configuration and such. Consider adding more RAM as well.
128 should be a minimum. Alpha's are memory pigs. Check out
www.dcginc.com , www.alphapowered.com , www.carrera.com , www.enorex.com
(pricey) , www.linux-hw.com , www.microway.com , or any of the myriad of
vendors. www.alphapowered.com has links to most major vendors.
