Re: New mate in Debian 10?

Hello.

I mean progress during copying files, etc. I didn't updated Debian. I have installed Debian 10 on my desktop. I have Hypra on Debian 9. In Hypra I don't test things, because I don't want to broke it.

Best regards

Hi,

What are progress menus? Are there dialogs appearing when someting is in progress, eg. a copy of files?

How did you do the upgrade to Debian 10? Alone? On a pure Debian OS or Hypra one?

I ask because if you did things alone, without upgrading Hypra repos, I am not surprised things are wrong now with the panels. Browsing to these is related to the Compiz window manager. It is not sure the Compiz was migrated correctly. Well, if you talk about a Hypra machine, and if you did alone, you should request support from them. It will by hard to troubleshooting as such migrations are very complex, but... things may be tried.

Hello,

in Mate in Debian 10 for example in progress menu the buttons are not labelled. It tells only button. Sometimes there is a problem when working with panels.

Hi,

Frankly I dont think Mate will be uploaded in buster-backports quickly, they are uploading Mate 1.24 to sid and it is a high work. So you will have to wait somewhat.

I dont understand why Pavel says there are accessibility problems in Mate. What release does he talk about? What problems someone could reproduce?

is some way to upgrade mate in Debian 10 Stretch?

In Stretch itself no: the stability of Debian notably comes from
avoiding to include bleeding edge software :)

An option is MATE being uploaded in stretch-backports. I don't know if the mate team plans to do that, I guess no, but I have Cc-ed the team to
make sure.
