Re: Add a package to a liveCD?

Figure out that in most cases, Orca is installed, brltty too. So it's easy to add a binding to run orca by default. It's what we do in our customized Debian anyway. That's why I proposed to add brltty to liveCD, then we can deal /ith a shortcut to enable or not a11y for MATE, to run Orca on Gnome. Given thas I don't think some global behavior is possible due to differences between desktops (a11y existence, a11y way of enable, etc).

"On a public space" means "an installed system". There is currently
nothing that turns "an installed system" into "a public space". And
anyway, I'm using the public space example to emphasize it, but the
situation happens just the same if you're going to a friend's place or
whatever place where there is a computer: you may want to access it,
just like sighted users may ("just to check my mail" or whatever).
This is really an important point, something I always wanted to see
tackled. A standard Debian Linux desktop should have a very simple,
possibly just via a key combination, way to enable at least speech.
While I think some people here might already know it, I have to bring up
the example: Apple implements this since a few years already. No matter
if it is iOS or Mac OS X, hand me an iPhone/iPad or a machine with
relatively recent Mac OS X, and I can start working with it without
needing sighted assistance, and without needing to install any
additional package (read, needs no network connection). It is sort of a shame that Linux does not
do something similar.
