You may be missing an atk bridge module for GTK 3. I suggest going into the GTK2 module directory /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/modules and copy it to the GTK 3.0 module directory, /usr/lib/gtk-3.0/modules. At-spi2 has a GTK3 module, but at-spi v1 does not.
