You said your keyboard was working in the 2.4 kernel you tested? That's news
to me, but maybe somebody got the keyboard to work on powerbooks, and maybe
this is still working in 2.6 kernels. Last week I uploaded 2.6.8
kernel-images for nine m68k subarchitectures, and it is working pretty well
on my Q840, maybe you can give it a try?

It is available in unstable
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/base/kernel-image-2.6.8-mac

I found only two problems so far, hwclock does not work and you should not
set a keymap, if you do not want to mess up your keyboard completely. Other
than that, it has been running rock stable.
