Looks like you've got a broken 68LC040 processor in your machine. Lots of
Macintoshes have them (although not all LC040's are broken). They're not
fully supported, and cause this behaviour. To solve this, you'll need to
replace the processor by a full 040, or live with it.

If you know a bit of Unix/Linux, you can solve the issue by hand by going
to the second virtual console (Apple-key + F2), and logging in as root
with the password you gave at install time.
