Debian on a Sun3, request for info

Hi,

I joined this list today, this is my first posting.

I've been given a 1988 Sun-3/60.

My main system is a DELL Inspiron 3500
(Intel Celeron (Mendocino) stepping 0a)
running a precompiled Debian Linux woody kernel 2.2.13,
build 11/20/1999 using gcc version 2.95.2 19991103.
Currently I'm using:
 gcc version 2.95.2 20000220 (Debian)
 GNU assembler version 2.10.91 (i386-linux)
 BFD version 2.10.91

The 3/60 used to be hooked up to a SPARC 2 running SunOS 4.1.
Now I want to link it to my DELL, to serve e.g. as an Xterm.
I write C for a living (real-time systems running QNX),
assembly for fun. Being new to the m68k platform, I'd like to
get my hands dirty on the 68020 / 68881.

Upon booting the 3/60 displays:

   Selftest Completed.

     Sun Workstation, Model Sun-3/60M.
     Type-3 Keyboard.
ROM Rev 3.0.1, 8MB memory installed, Serial #21029.
Ethernet address 8:0:20:0:FB:47, Host ID 17005225.

Testing 8 Megabytes of Memory ... Completed.

   Auto-boot in progress...
   Requesting Internet address for 8:0:20:0:FB:47

Of course, here things stop. as I've not yet made any
provisions for serving/bootstrapping the 3/60. Now I'm
interested in links to 3/60 specific documentation (which
deamons to use, how to configure them, what options to pass
to ./configure in building a crosscompiler, how large to
make the RAM disk, if any, etc.). Specifically, I'd like to
know what needs to be copied from the SPARC station to my
DELL.
I'm also interested in links to precompiled kernels (being
new to this platform and the entire notion of booting across
networks, I'm not quite comfortable building one myself yet).

That should get me on the road.

Thanks,

Tijs
