Potato and Nova Graphicscard on an Atari Falcon with Afterburner

Hello out there,

last week i have installed the potato distr.. on the native atari video
interface, x works very well. 
when i start x under the nova (1024x768 256 colors) after a few seconds i
get a white screen and the system hangs (no heartbeat at the floppy led).
my bootargs:
-s -k linux root=/dev/hda2 swap=/dev/hda3
video=external:1024;768;8;p;0xffc00000;;0xffb00000

did anybody know how i get x to work with the nova card?
