Are you trying to install slink, potato or woody packages?

Works for me on potato:
Unpacking libdbi-perl (from .../libdbi-perl_1.13-3.deb) ...
Unpacking libmysqlclient6 (from .../libmysqlclient6_3.22.30-2.deb) ...
Unpacking mysql-client (from .../mysql-client_3.22.30-7.deb) ...
Unpacking mysql-server (from .../mysql-server_3.22.30-7.deb) ...
Setting up libdbi-perl (1.13-3) ...

Setting up libmysqlclient6 (3.22.30-2) ...

Setting up mysql-client (3.22.30-7) ...

Setting up mysql-server (3.22.30-7) ...

Allthough I must admit, we are lagging a bit behind with mysql:
non-free/misc/mysql_3.22.32-1.dsc [optional:out-of-date]

I seem to have tried compiling a few days ago:
dpkg-source: extracting mysql in mysql-3.22.32
Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Skipping patch.
1 out of 1 hunk ignored -- saving rejects to Docs/manual.txt.rej
dpkg-source: failure: patch gave error exit status 1
dpkg-source: extracting mysql in mysql-3.22.32

But did not report a bug, since too many packages failed that day. If
somebody has too much time, I can send you a bunch of build logs so that you
can write down proper bug reports (for contrib and non-free packages, for
the main stuff we have a buildd who does the dirty work ;-)
If you are lucky, you will hear back from the maintainer and eventually
receive a fix. Of course it would be easier, if you can provide a fix.
